WFDF seeks bids to host WFDF 2018 World Ultimate Masters Club Championships (WUMCC)
22 January 2016
WFDF’s Board of Directors and Ultimate Committee are seeking bids from potential host organizers for the WFDF 2018 World Ultimate Masters Club Championships (WUMCC). The WUMCC is the masters club championship event for the flying disc discipline of Ultimate. The event is held every four years and is comprised of masters club teams who are endorsed by their National Federation.
Since the WUCC tournament in 2014 attracted so many teams, there has been a decision to host two separate events in 2018. The WFDF 2018 World Ultimate Club Championship (WUCC) comprising of the Men’s, Women’s and Mixed divisions, AND the WFDF 2018 World Ultimate Masters Club Championships (WUMCC) comprising of the Master Men’s, Master Women’s, Master Mixed and Grandmaster Men’s divisions will be held separately.
Division sizes are expected to be: Master Men’s: 16-20 teams, Master Women’s: 12-16 teams, Master Mixed: 12-16 teams and Grandmaster Men’s: 8-12 teams with an expected team number of 55.
The event most recently was held in 2014, Lecco, Italy and there were 33 teams representing the Master Men’s and Master Women’s divisions from 15 countries.
The preferred date range should be June - August 2018 , although a potential bidder can approach us if they need flexibility.
The deadline for the submission of completed bids is Saturday 30th April, 2016. Potential bidders should provide an expression of interest to bid (no details required) by no later than Monday 29th February, 2016. Event hosting information can be accessed here. You will be sent the official bid templates and budget guidelines once you email your expression of interest.
Bids will be reviewed by the Events Sub-Committee and the Ultimate Committee, with final approval upon their recommendation by the WFDF Board of Directors. It is anticipated that WFDF will announce the host details by the end of August 2018.
